(Special to Eastern Kansas Sports)
The Indian wrestling team made a short trip to Rock Creek to take on the mustangs for their senior night. Rock Creek recognized their six seniors; Tanner Shoup, Caleb Purvis, Johnathan Wilson, Drew Burenheide, Dayton Bittle and Ty Griffin.
Once wrestling got under way, both teams had no wrestlers at 106 and 113 so action got under way at 120. Leading off for the tribe was Jameal Agnew who controlled his match to a 8-2 decision. After that the tribe picked up four consecutive pins by Landon Brunner, Easton Taylor, Tucker Brunner and Blaisen Bammes. Also scoring wins for the tribe were Saben Williams, Ben DeJuses, TJ Tiede and Damian Ilalio.
Junior Easton Taylor scored his 99th high school career win last night with a chance to get 100 on Friday.
Rock Creek picked up their first win from senior Caleb Purvis at 152 and also getting wins were Drew Burenheide and Dayton Bittle.
After the dust settled the Indians came away with a 48-15 victory. Manhattan will be in action 7pm. Friday at MHS west campus for their senior night against rival Junction City.
