Cassius Vanderpool, 145 lbs., Bonner Springs – Earned a tough 3-1 win over the returning State Champion and #1 ranked Johnny Akin of St. Thomas Aquinas this past weekend.  This was actually Cassius’s first match of the season and he was ready for the challenge.  He’s put in quite a bit of work in the offseason in the gym, jumping 3 weight classes from last season. He was a state qualifier as a freshman, after missing most of the season with a broken hand, and a state medalist his sophomore and junior seasons. All three come to us with lots of mat experience from youth wrestling.

Colton Seely, 138 lbs., Chanute – He’s a returning state medalist and is one the strongest kids on our team. His length makes he very tough to wrestle against. He makes our room better because he keeps us all on our toes and keeps the room light.
