PLEASANTON — Southeast-Cherokee captured the boys’ team championship and Jayhawk Linn won the girls’ crown at the Three Rivers League Cross Country Invitational on Thursday.
The Lancers finished atop the boys’ standings with 18 points, taking first place ahead of runner-up Jayhawk Linn with 22 and third-place Northeast-Arma with 41.
Trayton Walker of Oswego was the individual champion with a time of 18:34. Finishing second was Austin Moffet of Yates Center at 18:48. Matthew Fleck of Southeast came in third at 18:49.
On the girls’ side, Jayhawk Linn — led by an individual championship from Kate Dawson in 20:48 — took first place in the final team standings with 16 points, just ahead of runner-up Southeast-Cherokee at 45.
Dawson won the girls’ race by more than a minute ahead of runner-up Ursula Billings of Colony-Crest in 21:57. Crest’s Elka Billings finished in third place with a time of 23:02.
